Join me every week when I talk about those taboo topics that affect families and individuals day in day out yet we NEVER seem to openly talk about!
I chat to ordinary people who have been through a wide variety of different life events and experiences and I invite them to share their thoughts and feelings before, during and after. By having no topic as a taboo I hope that this podcast will help YOU to feel able to open up about your own experinces and to realise it's not you, other people struggle and have issues too. Details of how you can get help and resources are included in the episodes show notes.
In this episode I chat with Claire Odd a functional health therapist who shares her amazing story of using an expected and unplanned event to find her purpose and totally transform how she works. We cover her first jobs in health and fitness and how circumstances allowed her to move into the corporate world. We talk about what happened after the event life that changed her world and having to relearn the most simple things we all take for granted and so much more
In this episode I explore the hidden opportunities that can be found in changes that affect your daily routine and allow you to discover whats possible. It's so easy to keep on doing the known, after all we know the brain loves familiarity and routine, (Known and familiar = safe = we're not going to die!) but when we get the chance to do things differently how often do we stop ourselves from even giving it a go?
In this solo episode I delve into resistance and unravel why its not bad or good, it depends! Resisting going backwards and doing an old habit that you used to do but doesn't serve you is a positive, for example hitting snooze on your alarm clock in the morning.
But resisting letting go of what you've always done or said around others, because you are scared of what it willl feel like or how they will respond... ... is going to stop you from getting what you say you want, and keep you feeling stuck and out of alignment with yourself.
In this solo episode I talk about why we may be reluctant to feel compassionate with ourselves, but why, if we want to reduce stress and anxiety long term creating a self-compassion practice is a must do! Self-compassion is NOT letting yourself off the hook, nor is it selfish! It's one of the keys components to improving confidence and building self-worth.
