On the surface these look like different problems.
But what I've learned is they're often different expressions of the same thing.
Through my own journey of divorce, bancruptcy, food and alcohol addiction, rehab, a heart attack, grief, running two business, while being a single Mum and constant training and learning
It's not usually a lack of information that keeps these habit loops alive, it's the fact that these are repeating patterns the brain learned years ago to keep us safe.
Once you reconnect back to your body and brain and learn how to work with your nervous system change does not have to be as hard as we think.
In a 'nut shell' I watched my parents quality of life deteriorate over time and they both died of the side effects of medications not the issues supposedly being treated!
They were given outdated diet advice, there were multiple mis-diaganosis, physical health issues being addressed separate from mental health issues, a shopping list of medications for decades (many of which should have been only been short term) to treat symptoms.
No communication or 'joined up' thinking between GP's, Psychiatrist or Specialists and at no point were the 'caring professionals' looking at the whole human being in front of them or the whole picture...
...the survival pattens, early programming, trauma, environment, hormones and endocrine function, vitamin and mineral deficiences, daily lifestyle habits, expectations, commitments to others.
It made me frustrated and angry, so when I started with my own addiction issues as a kid I KNEW I was NEVER EVER going to follow that same path of "a pill for an ill" or "one problem one solution" - I knew even then that's not how the body and brain work and that there had to be a better way.


I work on the uncovering the patterns creating the behaviour by looking at every aspect of the whole person
Because...
Food usually isn't the problem.
Alcohol usually isn't the problem.
Anxiety isn't the problem
People pleasing usually isn't the problem.
Perfectionism usually isn't the problem.
These are solutions your brain has learned to turn to for survival and to feel safe.
When the pattern changes and your identity changes
the behaviour is no longer needed.
